Matt has been an active music educator as both a private instructor and elementary school teacher for 20+ years.  He has traveled to Zimbabwe, Ghana, Zambia and South Africa to study, perform, volunteer and donate instruments. Along with Jim Svendsen, he co-founded the Gorham School of Music in 2013. Matt recently reunited with sungura artist and close friend, Killion Manyika, to record an album of original material. The record, entitled Waiting For Soon to Come, is available on Manyika & Moyo’s Bandcamp page. Back in December and January of 2011-2012, he helped launch a guitar program at the Bizung School of Music and Dance in Tamale, Ghana, which provides free, arts-based education for kids through the efforts of the Playing For Change Foundation.  In 2006, he wrote grants to fund the construction of a set of marimbas at Lyons Elementary School in Colorado and taught K-5 music classes there for seven years.  He is a life-long learner and continues to write and record. w.youtube.com/watch?v=PHOsFZNkONQ
